Hi, good morning! I've taken a bit of an unplanned hiatus after losing Moose because it was simply too hard to focus on a blog where half the name belonged to him. It's been a tough month. I've laughed, I've cried, I've held Oliver while he cried looking for Moose, I've spent a lot of my time consoling Oliver and Mater through this. It's hard losing a pet, especially when they're only 4. Over the past month, I've been thinking long and hard about my blog and where I want to go from here. I'm debating starting completely fresh and rebranding. The only things that I have on here that were ever truly successful were my heart posts, which I can simply transfer onto my new blog. I snagged Homebody for 50% off the other day so I thought it would be the perfect gift for my mom for Mother's Day! I also grabbed her chocolate, a new purse, a mug and more. I loved looking through this book and I cannot wait to read her copy while I'm visiting. I'm in Toronto today for my cardiology appointments, it's time for my annual appointments. I have an echocardiogram, exercise test, blood work, an EKG and two cardiologist appointments. It's going to be a long day but I'm glad it's only once a year. Friday was actually the nine year anniversary since my fourth open heart surgery. It's crazy how time flies, every day feels like it was just yesterday that I was in the hospital recovering....

Pictures I've Taken Lately

For many years, I loved my DSLR but had taken some time away from it. Recently, I fell back in love with it. Today I thought I would share some pictures off my camera; plus stories that go with some of the pictures! With the exception of one photo, all of these pictures were taken in my backyard. You’ll see which one isn’t from my backyard as you scroll through! I don’t really go into my backyard anymore without rubber boots. As the snow melts, it’s a mud pit everywhere! Life Lately (+ a spring gift guide!)

I haven’t done a life lately post in forever. I’m getting ready to say goodbye to my grandparents’ home in the next few weeks, but I’ve always been a huge fan of taking pictures to help with the memories. This picture was from last spring, but I’ve always been a sucker for how my mom took care of the gardens. I may not have taken the best care of them last summer, but I honestly think it gives the house more character. The shop is actually bigger than my house.
