I love the cute baby quotes, but I don’t love that a lot of the quotes include ultrasound photos. You truly don’t know who that baby is, so why would you want to display that anywhere?

I fully intended to do a giant Boxing Day post of everything that I got, with try on photos. However, on my way to the mall, I fell in my driveway. I have a hairline fracture in my olecranon bone, whiplash in my neck and my ribs are super swollen. I think that maybe I should be wrapped in bubble wrap! Therefore, I figured that I’d do another type of blog post instead.

Jane – it’s my mom, grandma and great grandma’s as well.

I hated high school and hated all my classes! I personally think that it was because there was just nothing specific, high school courses are so generalized. In college, I really enjoyed my mental health and human resources courses.

What is your favourite drink?

I love tea! Anyone who knows this will tell you this. I also am a sucker for a fantastic glass of wine.

What is your favourite song at the moment?

I have way too many favourite songs! The acoustic cover of Make Me (Cry) by Noah Cyrus came up on my Spotify the other day, and I am in love with it.

What is your favourite food?

‘za and tacos

What is the last thing you bought?

I just came home from the mall! I bought a sweater from Reitmans (that’s sold out online), two chiffon camisoles from Bluenotes (one is pink, one is black), plus a striped blouse from Marshalls!

Tie between Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me by Mindy Kaling and Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult.

I really don’t have one. I wear a lot of black and red though, so I guess I’d say that.

Just one, an older half-sister!

Oh my Lanta. I cannot answer that. I love Reitmans, Old Navy and Gap. However, I could write a novel on all the stores that I love.

I have too many! Fast food is definitely Taco Bell. I love Boston Pizza for a sit down restaurant.

When was the last time you cried?

When I fell and hurt my elbow and neck!

I have way too many favourite movies. Recently, I have been a documentary fiend. I really loved Audrie & Daisy, as well as the documentary about Amaznda Knox. If I need a good chuckle, I love Mean Girls, The Heat and 21/22 Jump Streets.

The Office, The Mindy Project, Gilmore Girls, Fuller House, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder. They’re all I really watch. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know!

In the words of Game of Thrones, winter is coming. I am currently sitting in my nice, warm house with a fantastic cup of tea and the Christmas presents left to wrap surrounding me. I plan to have them done by this afternoon.

I think that this winter is the first year that I have forgotten a gift this late in the season. I ran out this morning to pick up something for my mom, because I realized that I had barely gotten her anything. When I left the mall, it was an absolute winter wonderland-ish blizzard outside. I slid the whole way home!

I’m working an overnight shift tonight as a PSW, and I’m really not looking forward to having to leave my house again today.

In the meantime, I thought I’d share some great things that I have recently fallen in love with.

Since it’s getting colder and colder, I’m hoping to do some holiday baking in the very near future. These vegan paleo gingerbread cookies have my name written all over them!

I’ve recently started reading again. Honestly, I only ever read when it’s too cold to go outside or when it’s so hot outside all I want to do is suntan and read. I recently this book, which I fell in love with! It’s definitely a thriller with a lot of drama in it. It reminds me of a Gillian Flynn book. This is the next book on my reading list.

Snow, ice and I do not mix. I specifically remember three winters ago wearing my UGG boots and sliding right underneath my car at school. How embarrassing! Since then, I try to go with more winter friendly footwear this time of year. I fell in love with these Sorel boots. They’re definitely an item on my wish list, which I’m hoping to purchase in the near future.

Mittens are another winter must for me! I really, really love these Kate Spade mittens.

Cheyenne's Birthday

The Best Last Minute Gift!

I am the definition of a girly girl, but there's just something about Melanie at DropDeadCandles stuff that I love. Melanie and I work together - RN by day, fancy candle maker by night. 

Melanie sells so many beautiful things, I had the pleasure of running into her a bazaar recently. I personally love the bath bombs. They're made with activated charcoal, lemongrass essential oil and citrus scented Epsom salts. 

Think of how good you would that would smell and fell on your skin!

I also really love the idea of her candles. They're made as skulls, but the scents sound incredible! They're coconut lime, pink grapefruit, sweet orange and peach mango. Plus, there's several colours.

So, you may be like me and be petrified of anything skull-related. However, these items are adorable. I'd recommend them to anyone. They're super high quality and absolutely stunning.

Favourite Items from my New Favourite Store!

Six months ago, I honestly would have super rolled my eyes when anyone even slightly suggested the idea of Gap. Now, it’s becoming one of my favourite stores.

The fact that I disliked it so much once upon a time kind of makes me chuckle because Old Navy is my favourite store, and they’re owned by the same company.

Recently, my sister got me hooked on their linen tees and I found the most perfect pair of corduroy pants from there.

I figured that I may as well share some of the stuff that I’m super loving from there, some stuff that I love for myself and for others this holiday season.

Softspun Marled Cowl Neck Tunic // Softspun Double-Knit Sweatshirt // Softspun Knit Hi-Lo Top

The softspun products are so comfortable, and all of these look so cozy for winter. I want all of them! I personally really love the double-knit sweatshirt. I can picture myself lounging around my house in it, leggings, slippers and a messy bun with a good book in hand. The tunic is absolutely beautiful and I would love it for work; same with the high-low top.

I love striped t-shirts, and I love tunic t-shirts. I actually already bought the boatneck stripe tee in wine, but I’m super loving the red as well. I love all of these blouses, especially the denim kimono top. Anyone who knows me knows that chambray tops have been my go-to for years. I love them with dress pants, darker-washed jeans and leggings. This top is so different than the typical chambray button-up, and I would wear it so many different ways! I also really like the other two for casual or workwear, they’d look great with jeans or my favourite dress pants (which are totally on sale – click here for the link!)

Recently, going through my closet, I realized something very critical: I do not own any sweaters. Okay. That was dramatic. But I only own two sweaters. I really like these sweaters, so I may have to wait until really close to Christmas when they’ll be super cheap and buy them! I love all of these, and they’d look great with jeans or dress pants. In all honesty, I’m having visions of that striped sweater, Chelsea boots and ripped jeans dancing in my head (get the ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas reference!?)

I am looking to meet someone who can look me in the eye and say “Felicity, I hate dresses”. Especially these ones! I love all three of these dresses, because they can be dressed up or down and they can be worn year round. I think of how adorable that striped shift dress would look in July with a pair of wedge sandals. Or how cute that bell sleeve dress would look with tights and over the knee boots in October. Or the knit dress with a bright floral scarf, jean jacket and flats in April. That’s what I love about dresses – they’re so versatile and can be worn year round.

I already own the cords in navy, but I love the grey pair as well. Dress pants have started to become a regular staple in my wardrobe, I even sometimes wear them when I’m not working. I personally find them a heck of a lot more comfortable than jeans. I really love the skinny ankle pants, they’re classic but chic. The chino pants just look super, super comfortable and would look great with even just a plain t shirt.

I also love the accessories section at Gap, there’s tons of beautiful items. I can’t wait to continue to build my wardrobe from Gap, the stuff is so beautiful. It’s certainly growing on me a lot.

Life has been crazy lately.

I have been working my regular shifts, as well as picked up some casual shifts from my old job as a support worker. I have two job interviews this week coming up, both for part-time positions in my field. Side note, I fully intend to work three jobs at once. I want the opportunities to work part-time and learn how different homes run their different departments.

With Christmas coming, I have done and re-done my Christmas list about twenty times. My mom always asks for one, because she never really knows what to get my sister and I. I asked for some clothing this year that I can wear leisurely or to work.

I always bought some clothes from Old Navy and Gap last week when I was buying my dad’s gift. I bought these pants from the Gap in navy, and I’m super excited for them to come! I have been looking for some corduroy pants this season, but never could find a pair that I really liked.

Mater, round 2.

I posted pictures of my dog, Mater in the past. Mater is my fun loving, almost five year old border collie. We got him from a puppy, and he has become a member of our family ever since.
Recently, one afternoon, I got bored and took him into the backyard for some pictures. He never takes pictures for my parents, but he always poses for me (I always put a stick right above the camera lens then throw it once he takes the pictures).

Can you believe that Black Friday is tomorrow? I’ve already started some of my shopping from the pre-sales. I picked up this tank top in black from Old Navy, as well as this cardigan in marion berry last night. I love them so much and I’m already daydreaming of all the outfits that I can make up with these two.  Old Navy already has their 50% off sale, and it was great. I wish I had found even more that I loved. However, I do like what I left the store with!

Anyone who knows me is more likely aware that I am the definition of a crazy cat lady, plus a wine lover. I found cat wine! Catwine.co sells “Meowsling” and “Catbernet”. I can’t wait until I can have wine nights with Moose.

Speaking of my wine love, I found this adorable mini wine making kit. This is the cutest little gift idea, and it’s only $19.95! Plus, the kit makes five litres of wine. I recently came across FutureFemaleLeader.com. I love it, even though I live in Canada. I absolutely fell in love with their article, Do Yourself a Favor and Stop Glorifying Negativity. I sometimes find myself wrapped up in the negativity our society has on social media, calling people inappropriate things, posting negative things. It’s time that we stop. We are grownups, we are future leaders. In our 20s, we should be past the negative things in our lives and focus on being adults.

Another article that I really love from FutureFemaleLeader.com is To The Woman With The Waiting Heart. Honestly, I find myself struggling sometimes when I see people happy in relationships and know that I don’t have that. I have learned that I need to stop settling, and I need to find someone who will accept my quirk and love me for me.

I’ve learned that I’m okay with being alone. I’m strong, independent and have a good head on my shoulders for 23. Sometimes I listen to my music a little too loud, sometimes I forget to put deodorant on in the mornings, sometimes I cry when I watch a sappy movie. But that’s okay. I know it’s all going to work out, even when I don’t think it will be.

First Aid Beauty Deep Cleanse: Anyone who has read my blog, has likely come to terms that FAB is my go-to cleansing line. It is the one line of products that I will continue to purchase over and over again. I have previously mentioned how disappointed I was by the FAB charcoal products, but I do love their red clay products. I really love this, and I personally would love this as a stocking stuffer (hint, hint mom). For $20, you really can’t go wrong with this product.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream: This couldn’t be a gift guide without the world’s best cream! I purchased the largest bottle of this cream (8 oz.) because I personally don’t like how the 12 oz. container is. That 8 oz. bottle has lasted me since May using at least once a day and it’s barely half gone. It’s definitely worth the price. It’s meant for all skin times, and is a long-term hydrating lotion that treats all different needs, such as dryness, itchy skin and eczema. I had heat rash in the summer, and honestly, it even treated the heat rash. It’s definitely worth the money, and is much higher quality than its drugstore comparisons (ie. Aveeno).

Pinch Provisions Minimergency Kit for Her: I fell in love with these kits a few years back when I saw them in line at Chapters. They’re a 17-piece set based on the needs of the average women. Some of the items include a safety pin, a tampon, double-sided tape and hairspray. The pouch (which is absolutely adorable, by the way!) fits in the palm of your hand, but has so much for women. It’s the perfect gift, and can just be thrown in a purse in case of emergencies. PS it’s only $22, and makes an excellent gift for friends.

Black Friday Wishlist: Old Navy

I’m going Black Friday shopping on Friday! It’s my first time in years. The last time I went, Target was still open in Canada. I remember because I got a curling wand for $10 that’s lasted me three years now. I figured I’d make a list of things I want to buy for Black Friday – which will also double as a gift guide.

Today I’m doing Old Navy, but I’ll do a new one every day leading up to Black Friday.

Lace Sleeve V-Neck Shift Dress // Fit & Flare Cami Dress // Tie-Waist Crepe Midi Dress

I love all of these dresses. They’re so cute and chic. Plus, you can dress them up or down. They’d all look really nice with a pair of heels for a more formal event, but with booties, tights and a jean jacket to dress them down. I also personally really love the midi dress. I love shorter dresses, I always have and always will. Although, as I’m getting older, I’d rather have a longer, classic dress that I can throw on for more adult occasions; or for somewhere like a Christmas Eve church service.

(Also, all of these dresses come in several different colours. Therefore, making them a great option for little black dresses, too.)

Classic V-Neck Pullover // Cable Knit Open Front Cardigan // Relaxed Textured Crew-Neck Sweater

I love all of these sweaters so much! Funny story: I’ve actually talked about the open front cardigan before, but in the pine needles. Then I was in Old Navy last weekend, and decided that the heather grey was much nicer in person. I chose the bright blue sweaters, because I personally don’t own enough bright colours in my closet. If I buy the blues, I thought they’d look so cute with jeans or black or grey dress pants. I also really like the v-neck pullover in Victorian Jade, and the crew-neck sweater in party-started pink. They all look super comfortable, too. Which is always a plus for me.

Old Navy shirts are my favourite for work. They’re not super expensive, so if they get stained, it isn’t the end of the world. I chose the relaxed shoulder shirt, because I already own the tulip-hem tunic almost identical to it. Which is super comfortable with leggings and over-the-knee boots for work. Also, I previously mentioned that I need more colours in my closet: this section is a great description as to why. I have two grey shirts. Grey and navy are my comfort colours. I also included this burgundy tank. I saw it in store about a month ago, and had fallen in love with it then. It would look great under a blazer or cardigan, or on its own for a girls night. So much versatility with it!

I love pajamas for a gift! I love the aesthetic of being in front of the fireplace with big cup of hot chocolate or tea (I love White Chocolate Peppermint Tea from Teavana) in my pajamas. I really love these slippers from Old Navy, too. I don’t think anyone can go wrong with pajamas, and I think this is the cutest PJ set. It makes me want to go to Starbucks and get an eggnog latte. 

Side note: I was going to include shoes and accessories; Old Navy has some beautiful jewelry in-store but does not sell it online. I find it really hard to find shoes to buy for others. Therefore, I didn’t include any footwear. However, for myself, I do really like these Chelsea boots.

Honestly, I find it hard to shop for the men (and when I say men, I mean my dad) in my life. My dad does always like what we get him from Old Navy though. I always get him shirts, because I know what size he is and know that he likes top wise. I let my mom deal with the pants and shoes. I love these shirts, they’re simple but classic. My dad will be wearing these shirts for years to come

Another thing that I always get my dad are plaid shirts. There’s something about them that he really likes. Or at least acts like he likes. I really love all three of these tops.
