What’s In my Amazon Cart

I did this post a few months ago and got tons of great feedback! I’m not really sharing much information for safety reasons (long story right now) but I am in the process of moving… faster than I anticipated but I am excited for the future. Due to this, my Amazon cart is full of stuff I’m hoping to Prime once I move! I’m also hoping to share a photo of the interior sooner than later because it’s absolutely stunning.

Collapsible Herringbone Storage Basket

These come in four different colours, and eight different sizes/shapes. I love them all, they’re great for storage in small spaces.

Eco-Friendly Dish Cloths

How darling are these dishcloths? They come in eight different patterns but I’m loving the lemon for spring! The cat ones are pretty great, too!

Crochet Round Bathmat

How cute is this little bathmat? It’s so cute and such a great price!

Cotton Oven Mitts

One thing I never bought while prepping for moving was oven mitts… strange. I love these mitts and they come with so many other matching products!

Cotton Tablecloth

Honestly love this tablecloth, it goes with the oven mitts above! I really love the rose, barn red & artichoke colours, too!

Cotton Dishtowels

Last product from this line, I pinky promise! I bought a set of dishtowels from this brand a new months ago and really, really like them! I may grab these too because the quality is great.

Wood Frame Mirror

I love this mirror – it’s so nice for a simple look but has such a nice twist. I’m also loving this cathedral style mirror!

Wood Wall Wine Rack

I love this wine rack! Although not a necessary, I do love this wine rack. Plus it’s under $50!

Herringbone Shower Curtain

Loving this curtain! I did really like the grey striped one, too – but something about this curtain really sticks out to me.

Lemon Wreath

One of the things I’m most excited for is having my own door for wreaths! I really love this wreath for summer.

Salt & Pepper Shakers

Okay but how adorable are these little salt & pepper shakers? I’m super excited about these and the price is great!

Mason Jar Kitchenware Multi Piece Set

So this entire set is under $25! It comes with measuring spoons, measuring cups and a spoon holder. It’s definitely worth the price!

Rapid Egg Cooker

This is one of those items that I was like “it’s so cute, do I need it? No. Do I want it? Yes.”

I love making eggs and I feel like this is so convenient and easy to use, it’s definitely worth the money.

Hot Oil Popcorn Popper

This is one of those items that again, I don’t need but I want. I love popcorn, it’s no secret. This machine is so simple and so easy, plus has great reviews.

T-Fal ActiFry

I never in a million years thought I’d hop on the actifryer bandwagon but I recently tried one and I love it! I definitely want one for myself now that I’ve had the experience with one.

Warm Weather Outfit Inspo

Hey, good morning – happy Friday!

I can’t believe it’s Good Friday and that we’re almost into May! It’s finally starting to warm up here after what felt like the longest winter on record. Mind you, I feel like I say that every winter though. I thought I would share some cute little spring and summer inspiration.

If you’ve ever read my blog before, you likely know how much I love Transport bags from Madewell – this bag is so cute & the perfect bag for summer!

Other than the t-shirt, this outfit is the exact same pieces as the outfit from #2! It’s always kind of fun to me when you can make outfits much more versatile. For chillier days, these sneakers and this sweater would go super well with the jeans, tee and bag.

Last one I promise of the same jeans, sandals & bag set – I just wanted to highlight how versatile these three items are. Unless it’s deathly hot, I often rock jeans and a cami throughout the summer. This is definitely an outfit I could see myself wearing all summer long!

Some days I honestly think that it’s fun to wear a simple outfit – especially if it’s hot! I love chiffon camisoles, they’re one of my go-to things in my closet. They’re just so perfect for work, running errands or play! This one is under $20, too! To dress this up, you could totally throw this kimono on top or this bracelet.

I love t-shirt dresses because I honestly just feel like they’re so great for everything. You can dress them up or down, simple or all out. I chose this look today as it is totally something I would rock all summer long. I still have really strong feelings about how much I love this bag, too.

P.S. I love these shoes, but I also really enjoy these espadrilles with an outfit like this too.

I’m an apple shape and I find one pieces really unflattering on me. However, as a bigger girl, I look for stuff with coverage. I have become a huge fan of high waisted bathing suit bottoms and these bottoms have a slimming effect with the ruching!

Hey, good morning – happy Monday!

If you don’t follow me on Instagram, this is what I got up to this weekend:

Well, what I got up to on Saturday. I painted my garage doors over the weekend in Behr’s Moonlit Beach. It was super on a whim but it makes the garage look so much better!

Yesterday was rainy and cold here. Huge difference from Saturday. I curled up on my couch and watched a few episodes I had saved on my PVR of 48 Hours. Which led me down a dark twisted path on researching a theory about one of the people on the show, Michael Ross Stahlman. If you google his name, there’s some crazy info on this man and his death. A lot was left out of the episode.

My favourite palette ever, Urban Decay’s Naked Smokey, was discounted what seems like forever ago and I have been savouring every last bit of my palette for as long as possible. I recently found a great dupe for it though and it’s under $30! I definitely will be ordering it.

I keep sharing earrings when I don’t have my ears pierced. Honestly, the more I look at ideas for posts, the more I kind of want to pierce my ears. I do really like these earrings, they’re the perfect every day earring. They’d make a great Mother’s Day gift, too!

I love Pink, I’ve loved her since I was eight years old singing Get the Party Started into my hairbrush. I’m loving her new single, Can We Pretend.

I’ve never heard of pineapple jam, but I’m loving the idea of it with this recipe.

Pictures I've Taken Lately

For many years, I loved my DSLR but had taken some time away from it. Recently, I fell back in love with it. Today I thought I would share some pictures off my camera; plus stories that go with some of the pictures!

With the exception of one photo, all of these pictures were taken in my backyard. You’ll see which one isn’t from my backyard as you scroll through!

I don’t really go into my backyard anymore without rubber boots. As the snow melts, it’s a mud pit everywhere! And when I say rubber boots, I don’t mean $160 Hunter boots… these bad boys were $10 boots from Walmart. I’m definitely all about practicality these days and living in my rain boots is definitely something I’m loving.

Last week, I showed some pictures of my house and my front lawn but nothing with my backyard. This is my backyard. The bridge needs a new piece of wood, but this is my little piece of paradise. You can kind of see it in the second picture but there’s a fire pit over on the island for summer fires. It’s so relaxing out here.

In my backyard, my grandpa’s old tractor garage is there. My grandpa stored his tractor in it for years, which has since been removed and given a new home. We put in a woodstove since it has a little chimney in it and it’s the best place to hang out. I burn all my Amazon and shoe boxes back there. I could spend all my free time in here.

Nothing too exciting – just some cedar in the garage!

I was burning some boxes so I thought I’d snap a quick picture of the fire and the song I was listening to. I love Maren Morris, I really want to pick up her Girl vinyl record.

p.s. she may be onto something… there is a song for everything!

What would a pictures post be without a picture of one of my fur babies? Love this picture of Mater, we were outside playing fetch and I managed to get this snap of him quickly before he picked up his ball.

… and you’ve come to my post that isn’t in my backyard. This is my weekend uniform – a striped t-shirt, jeans and running shoes. I’ve recently fallen in love with running shoes and these New Balance ones are great. I grabbed them off a clearance rack at Marshall’s for $38 and don’t regret my purchase at all.

Good morning!

Life Lately (+ a spring gift guide!)

I haven’t done a life lately post in forever. I’m getting ready to say goodbye to my grandparents’ home in the next few weeks, but I’ve always been a huge fan of taking pictures to help with the memories. This picture was from last spring, but I’ve always been a sucker for how my mom took care of the gardens. I may not have taken the best care of them last summer, but I honestly think it gives the house more character.

The shop is actually bigger than my house. My grandpa was a small engine mechanic after he stepped back from farming and he did all of his work back there. We also have a tractor garage where he stored his beloved tractor. We’ve put a wood stove in it and I quite often sit out there alone in a Muskoka chair. It’s so relaxing to think out there.

You can kind of see them in the picture of the house, but these are my rocking chairs. I occasionally find myself feeling as though I’m 90 when I’m sitting on these. They came from this store almost ten year ago and I love them to death. If you ever come to my house in the spring or summer, I usually will try to keep my visits here. They’re perfect for sitting with a cup of tea, a cider or a glass of wine and listening to the birds. Occasionally, you’ll even see a car go by too!

I did previously post this picture on my Instagram. I got questions on my mug, which is still in stock – you can find it here! I’ve been really struggling with my mental health again so I’ve been taking some time to focus on self-care. To me, self-care is sitting on my porch, in my rocking chair and having a nice cup of tea. In the evenings, I’ve been burning Amazon boxes and having a cider in my tractor garage.

Would it really be a post about my life recently without at least one of my fur babies? This is Mater’s favourite time of the year. It’s finally warm enough that he can swim again for short periods, he has mud to play in and he can run around the property without snow or dealing with constant heat. If I didn’t have coyote problems, I would honestly let him outside at 8 am and let him run until bedtime. He has never once gone near the road and he’s only gone far away once and he came back within an hour.

It’s a bit blurry because he doesn’t ever sit still, especially if he hears a bird. However, whenever I’m outside with Mater, Oliver will sit in my bedroom window and watch the two of us. I’ve tried to bring him out on a leash or wrapped in a blanket but he always gets out and runs toward the road or into the woods. He also got out while I was gone away once, and he decided to climb into a possum den. This was the end result:

Needless to say, Oliver doesn’t get to be outside anymore as a result.

He was on his way to be neutered. I still to this day can't decide if he knew he was getting neutered or just hated the car ride.

Just for reference, I still do have Moose – he just isn’t as photogenic as Oliver or Mater. He’s only photogenic when he wants something (usually my lunch).

I had zero intentions of actually posting anything I liked today, mainly just chatting but oh my gosh, while I was on the Indigo website finding that mug there was so much I loved that I just wanted to share with you guys. These all would make great Easter and Mother's Day gifts, too!
